God Was Sending Us to Help Before We Knew It
The Good News of Stanislaus County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in 2018. Our ministry is a continuation of a ministry effort that began in 2016. We believe that no senior should go to bed hungry. In this agriculturally rich community, many seniors cannot afford to purchase the nutritional food they need. The idea of the ministry came from a few friends who were purchasing groceries for lower-income seniors at a local senior community. In 2017, one of those friends was killed in an attempted carjacking. However, the memory of his compassion for the senior community inspired us and is remembered in our ministry. Giving groceries to lower-income seniors—our ministry is that simple.
In 2018, after some prayer and discussion, we decided to officially form the non-profit organization. Our goal is to make a difference in as many lives as we can each month. We can do this by taking your financial support and turning your blessings into bags of groceries.
We purchase our groceries locally to maintain freshness and product integrity. We have delivered groceries and provided over 20,000 meals because of the support we receive. We do not charge the seniors we serve. These groceries are free to them because of the generosity of our donors.

Our Goals Are Simple
We will do what God allows for our ministry because we are a community-supported non-profit organization. What the community blesses us with is what we pass along to others.
In 2022, we hope to expand our ministry once again. We were able to more than double our efforts in 2021. We would like to expand our delivery locations throughout the county as well as add staff and more volunteers.
Currently, we deliver at three senior communities in Modesto, CA along with residents at two mobile home parks, also in Modesto. We deliver to a mobile home park in Denair, CA, totaling nearly 80 households each month. The cost of delivering groceries to a larger community is nearly $1,000, while individual deliveries are between $35 to $50.
We are looking to add Oakdale, Riverbank, Turlock, Ceres, Patterson, and Hughson, CA locations in the coming year. To achieve this, we will need the help of the community to expand our budget to meet the growing needs. Eventually, we would like to add smaller communities like Salida, Empire, and Keyes, CA as we grow.
